In all seriousness, in this troubled country with no milk and honey (I just categorically mean the poor economic situation that faces many of us who are relatively honest and won’t suck up to authority) we are never right in the system’s eyes. That is, we are not correct until the moment we are proven right by others who live among us — and this always takes place past the shadow of any doubt. It’s part psychology and part sociology. Interestingly enough, psychology is not usually taught in K-12 except for maybe offering an A.P. course for future college-bound psych majors.
This is why I say that the general public does not believe most of their so-called leaders anymore. Much of the American public is too broke financially to even care. We’re always on the move and never look back. The strain over the common use of credit cards has now put the disadvantaged consumer out on a ledge. Ask me how I know. No? Well, I already know.
I’ve complained for many years that Open Source Software and progressive change in the form of uprooting old institutions was never in the right place at the right time. Now I understand why: C’est la vie. They won’t let us advance without more tears, sweat, and other.
